Our Love  Story

Would you believe that some people meet because of fate, while others say love happens by chance? But for us, it was neither coincidence nor accident. It was God’s perfect plan and perfect timing that allowed our timelines and our hearts to cross paths.

In 2014, Dave entered college at the University of Rizal System – Morong, Rizal, as an aspiring civil engineer. His first year up to the first semester of his second year was just plain and simple, until the second semester began—the time when the love story of a hopeless romantic boy started his lifelong journey with the one and only girl he has ever loved.

At the start of the second semester of his second year in college, Dave was placed in a new block composed purely of civil engineering students, unlike his previous classes which were mixed with other engineering courses. It was during this time that he fell in love at first sight with Hannah when he noticed her beautiful smile, her eyes, and even the unforgettable and unique fragrance of her perfume.

Being a hopeless romantic, Dave did not have the confidence to approach Hannah. He would simply admire her from a distance, avoiding eye contact. Some of their classmates would tease Dave about Hannah, until one day Dave gathered the courage to send her a message. That message started a daily routine where Dave would wait for Hannah to be online at 6:00 PM so they could chat.

During this time, Hannah shared that she had paused her studies for a year, which is why she was still a returning second-year student. This was how their story began—not by fate, not by accident, but because they believed it was God who brought their different timelines together.

Fast forward to October 27, 2015, Dave finally gathered the courage to tell Hannah that he seriously wanted to court her. Hannah accepted and allowed Dave to pursue her.

On April 25, 2016, after almost seven months of courtship, Hannah gave her first sweet “yes” to Dave. However, shortly after, their relationship had to pause from being official because Hannah’s parents wanted her to finish her studies first before committing to a relationship.

Despite this, they quietly continued their relationship while pursuing their studies. Together, they shared not only the challenge of gaining acceptance but also supported each other financially to overcome the needs of their education.

During their fifth year, Dave was once again invited by Hannah’s parents, and this time, their relationship was finally accepted. All the waiting and struggles were worth it as they continued building their dreams together from scratch.

In 2019, Dave and Hannah both graduated from college and started their respective careers. With distance between them, they could only rarely meet, usually during payday, as both carried the responsibility of being breadwinners while facing financial challenges.

As their love story continued to unfold, Dave proposed to Hannah on April 26, 2025. Hannah gave her second sweet “yes” to Dave. From a simple love built through time and challenges, they are now preparing for a lifetime commitment together.

Before we say our vows, here is a glimpse of the love that God has blessed us with.

These moments remind us that true love is worth waiting for, fighting for, and cherishing every day. Soon, we will be saying "I do," but in our hearts, we already have. God has been so faithful to us, and we are forever grateful.

Stepping closer to a lifetime together.
