Our Love  Story

Glendel and Jessamen’s love story began long before they ever imagined that they would one day walk hand in hand toward forever. As teenagers, their paths crossed through their shared service in their parish community. Glendel faithfully served as an altar server, while Jessamen spent her time helping with church cleaning as part of her school requirements in AP and CLE Service.

Their story started in the most unexpected way. One day, one of Jessamen’s classmates, who was also a youth member in the parish, borrowed her phone to message Glendel, who happened to be courting her at the time. When he replied, Jessamen was surprised to receive a message from an unfamiliar number. Curious, she responded, and that simple exchange became the beginning of something neither of them anticipated.

Knowing they were both single, conversations came naturally. What started as casual texting slowly turned into constant communication until they eventually became each other’s favorite person to talk to.

Their first meeting felt effortless, almost as if it had been destined from the start. Glendel invited Jessamen to attend Mass, and what became their first date was simple and sincere. There were no grand gestures or extravagant plans, only two young hearts quietly getting to know one another. In that moment, Jessamen saw in him a man of faith, gentleness, and genuine intentions.

From then on, Glendel remained consistent. He never failed to check on her, update her about his day, and make her feel cared for even in the simplest ways. Their bond deepened through sincerity, patience, and shared faith.

However, their relationship faced challenges early on. Jessamen’s parents were strict and did not allow her to have a boyfriend until she finished her studies. Because of this, their relationship remained a secret, known only to his family and a few close friends.

Even in secrecy, Glendel’s love never wavered. Every afternoon, he would wait for her near the Mercury Drugstore close to her drop-off point. He would walk her home, carry her bag, and gently guide her across the pedestrian lane. Yet before reaching their neighborhood chapel, they would carefully part ways so she could continue home alone without drawing attention.

Their love was quiet yet steadfast. Whenever familiar faces appeared, they would instinctively distance themselves, pretending to be strangers. Though hidden, their relationship remained precious, protected by patience and understanding.

Despite the limitations, they found joy in the simplest moments together. Most of their dates were spent attending Sunday Mass side by side. Whenever Jessamen came with her family, Glendel would quietly take note of where she sat while serving at the altar. Sometimes, he would volunteer for roles that allowed him to stay nearby, hoping to catch even the smallest glimpse of her.

As the years passed, the challenges grew heavier. Jessamen’s family became stricter, closely monitoring her time, movements, and even her messages. They constantly reminded her to focus on her studies and discouraged relationships until she finished her studies.

Still, love endured.

Through high school and college, they continued choosing each other despite the difficulties. Sundays became their constant, a quiet assurance that no matter how hard life became, they would always find their way back to one another.

Jessamen promised that after graduation, she would finally introduce Glendel to her family, and he patiently held onto that promise.

But life eventually tested them in a different way. As Jessamen started building her career, time became scarce, and misunderstandings slowly took their toll. Distance, exhaustion, and constant struggles led to frequent arguments until the relationship they fought so hard to protect eventually came to an end.

For two years, they went their separate ways.

During that time, both of them tried to move forward and entered new relationships. Yet despite meeting other people, the love they once shared continued to leave a lasting mark on them. Jessamen realized how deeply she valued quality time and genuine companionship, while Glendel quietly carried memories of their story wherever life brought him.

Even in separation, he never completely disappeared. He continued greeting her on special occasions like birthdays and Teacher’s Day, especially since Jessamen never changed her phone number. From a distance, he would occasionally check on her through social media, sometimes even using his mother’s account.

Unknown to them, life was already creating small bridges that would eventually lead them back to each other. During those years, Glendel’s niece, Dianne, became a student at the school where Jessamen teaches. Through her innocent stories and updates, they somehow remained aware of each other’s lives despite having no direct communication.

Then one unexpected moment changed everything.

One afternoon, while Jessamen was waiting to cross the street outside her school, she saw Glendel passing by on his motorcycle. He was on his way to visit someone else, yet in that brief moment when their eyes met, time seemed to stand still. Memories resurfaced, and something within both of them quietly awakened once again.

Later that day, a simple and playful message from Glendel finally broke the silence.

Their conversations resumed as if no time had passed at all. Soon after, he invited her to attend Mass again, just like old times. What once began as a simple invitation years ago slowly became the beginning of their second chance.

This time, they chose not to let fear, distance, or circumstances pull them apart again. And on October 11, 2015, Glendel and Jessamen officially found their way back to each other and became a couple once again.

Jessamen finally introduced Glendel to her family, and to her surprise, he was warmly welcomed. He slowly became part of their lives, joining family gatherings, building relationships, and proving that genuine love naturally finds its rightful place.

From that moment on, their love was no longer hidden. It became open, accepted, and celebrated by the people around them.

As they continued rebuilding their relationship, both of them also pursued growth in their individual lives and careers. Jessamen became a teacher in a private school, while Glendel pursued a four-year course and built his career as a support coach in the BPO industry despite holding a degree in education.

Through every season of life, Glendel remained steadfast. He cared for Jessamen not only through words, but through quiet acts of love and responsibility. He cooked for her, helped her with everyday tasks, and stood beside her during the difficult times when she and her brother had to navigate life without their parents around.

Even with opposite work schedules, he never failed to make them feel safe and cared for. He even installed CCTV camera in Jessamen’s home so he could continue checking on them during his night shifts. After work each morning, despite his exhaustion, he would still bring her to school before finally resting.

Years of patience, growth, forgiveness, and unwavering love eventually led them to one of the most beautiful moments of their lives.

On August 28, 2025, in Boracay, Glendel asked Jessamen to spend forever with him.

And she said yes.

Now, they are preparing to return to where it all began, not simply as two young dreamers, but as two people who chose each other again and again through every season of life.

Their journey was never perfect, but it was beautifully guided. It became a living testimony that love grows stronger when rooted in faith, shaped by patience, and sustained by perseverance. Some love stories are not defined by how easy the path was, but by how two hearts continue finding their way back to each other despite time, distance, and trials.

Because when love is meant and prayed for, no season of waiting is ever wasted.

And in God’s perfect time, what was once only a quiet beginning became a forever worth waiting for.
