Our Love  Story

A Love written in Time

At the heart of the University of the East Caloocan, amidst the hum of lectures and the rush of student life, fate quietly wove the first threads of our love story.

It all began with a simple task—photocopying a worksheet, collecting two pesos from our classmates. A task so small, yet it unknowingly led to something life-changing. That day, I failed to complete the photocopying because the shop was closed. A few days later, while caught in traffic on a jeepney ride home, I heard a voice—loud, clear, and unmistakable—calling out, "Classmate!"

There she was, standing outside, asking about the worksheet. That was our first real conversation, and little did we know, it was the beginning of something extraordinary.

The following semester, destiny placed us in each other’s paths once more—as classmates, as groupmates, as members of the academic committee. Working together on our Feasibility Study, we spent our days laughing, learning, and sharing moments that slowly turned into memories we would cherish forever. Our conversations stretched into late nights, our morning walks to class became routine, and with every shared meal and story, something deeper blossomed between us.

One day, I realized—I never wanted to be without her. She was the answered prayer I had whispered in faith, the person God had promised would walk this life with me. With Isaiah 60:22 in my heart—"At the right time, I, the Lord, will make it happen."—I pursued her. And she chose me too.

Growing Together, Dreaming Together

Our last year in college was not just about chasing dreams but proving that love could be a source of strength. While some doubted if a relationship could thrive alongside academic success, we held firm. Together, we faced challenges, supported each other through sleepless nights, and never let go of the promise we made—to uplift, inspire, and push each other toward greatness.

And we did not disappoint. On graduation day, we walked across the stage, not just as partners in love but as Latin honor graduates, ready to take on the world together. From that day forward, we continued to celebrate victories, face setbacks hand in hand, and build the future we once only dreamed of.

A Proposal Among the Clouds

Our journey had taken us far, but our first flight together was set for Cagayan de Oro—a trip that would mark the beginning of our forever. In secret, I planned a quiet yet heartfelt proposal at The Rock Chapel in Amaya View. It was to be simple, intimate, and special—just like our love.

That Sunday, we attended mass, hearts full and spirits lifted. After the service, we captured the moment in pictures and videos, laughing and dancing as we always did. And then, as she turned, I knelt.

With my heart pounding and the weight of every beautiful moment we had shared leading up to this, I asked her the most important question of my life.

"Will you marry me?"

She said yes.

A love that Stands the Test of Time

Through the years, we have remained each other’s greatest joy. I am the clown who never fails to make her laugh, and she is the quiet strength that keeps me grounded. Our love has always been private yet steadfast—unshaken by the noise of the world, strengthened by the foundation we built together. We choose to resolve our misunderstandings on our own, knowing that our relationship is ours to nurture and protect.

Above all, we have always placed God at the center of our love. No matter how busy the days get, we make sure to end them with heartfelt conversations, reminding each other that love, faith, and laughter will always guide us home.

This is our love story—one that began with a simple worksheet and a call from a jeepney, and now, a promise to spend forever together.
