Our Love Story
Jethro and Jahmela first met in 2014 as second-year students at Central Luzon State University. Both were aspiring accountancy majors who took the qualifying exam and passed with odd-numbered rankings, which placed them in the same class.
Their story began with a prank call. He pretended to be a senior inviting her to a networking seminar. Being the polite and respectful student she was, she responded with “po” and “opo” throughout the conversation—until she heard laughter in the background and realized it was all a joke. That moment broke the ice between them, and soon, they were exchanging messages about homework, quizzes, and reviews like regular classmates.
Over time, their connection deepened. She began to notice how her day brightened every time she saw him, and their conversations grew longer. It wasn’t long before she found herself longing for his company.
During their semester break, she texted him “Bogoshipo,” a Korean phrase meaning “I miss you,” inspired by her love for K-dramas. To her surprise, he replied, “Nado bogoshipo,” which means “I miss you too.” That simple exchange marked the beginning of his efforts to court her.
On January 5, 2015, they officially became a couple. Now, after years of love, friendship, and shared dreams, they are about to embark on the next chapter of their story—they’re getting married!
