Our Love Story
A Love Story That Crossed Oceans
In the age of modern love and digital connections, Mel and Yvy met in a surprisingly wholesome way — through a dating app in the fall of 2022. Neither was expecting anything serious, just going with the flow and enjoying the surprises life had to offer.
One of those surprises? A first "date invitation" at Puregold. Yes, you read that right. That supposedly grocery meet-up turned into a spontaneous McDonald's meal — Yvy ate the burger patty, Mel had the buns. And just like that, something clicked.
But life had other plans. Mel had to go onboard later that year, and the connection was put to the test. Through rough seas, clear skies, and patchy Wi-Fi, their long-distance friendship grew deeper. They never stopped talking, listening, and learning about each other — until Mel returned home in 2023, and they were both ready to take the leap from friendship to something more.
Since then, they’ve been building memories: road trips, food trips, karaoke nights, quiet dinners, and lots of laughs. As Mel continued his seafarer duties — affectionately called “seasons” by Yvy — the love held strong through every video call, tampuhan, thoughtful message, and loving affirmation.
Then came January 2025. A simple despedida, just days before Mel was to leave again, became something more. Unknown to Yvy, Mel had already asked for her parents' blessing. That day, he proposed — turning a temporary goodbye into a promise of forever.
