Our Love  Story

It all started at a review center in España, Manila. In the middle of ordinary days filled with lectures, review notes, and quiet routines, Bernh first saw Lara — and as cliché as it may sound, that moment felt different for him. From then on, he quietly prayed for the chance to know her more.

In September 2015, Bernh finally gathered enough courage to send Lara a message, and thankfully, she replied. What started as simple conversations slowly turned into something more meaningful. Bernh would accompany Lara to church and attend worship services with her, despite admitting that he was never the most religious person — even until now. Still, he showed up sincerely because he wanted to be part of the things that mattered most to her.

Lara was careful and guarded, while Bernh remained patient and consistent with his intentions. Then, in November 2015, during the Ayala Lights and Sounds display, Bernh finally received his first “yes,” and that became the beginning of their story together.

If you truly know Lara and Bernh, you would know how different they are in many ways. Their personalities and perspectives often contrast with one another, but instead of pulling them apart, those differences became one of the strongest foundations of their relationship. Over the years, they learned that love is not about changing each other, but about understanding one another, growing together, and continuously choosing each other through every season of life.

In July 2022, Bernh proposed to Lara in Cuyapo, Nueva Ecija. Although life did not unfold exactly as they had planned afterward, those experiences only strengthened their relationship even more. Then, in August 2024, in Hong Kong, Bernh once again asked Lara to spend a lifetime with him — and this time, he received the sincerest and most certain “yes.”

For almost eleven years, Lara and Bernh’s story has been built on faith, patience, growth, friendship, and the quiet decision to continue choosing each other every single day. And now, they are finally beginning their next and favorite chapter — a lifetime together.
